Batch group commenced in the year 2007 around which year the group members celebrated their 50th birthday. The Mission/Purpose of the group is to foster fellowship among the members & to support the College.

The inaugural meeting was held in the year 2007 with a grand reunion of members coupled with a residential get together at a hotel in Kaluthara. Around 100 members participated with their spouses while several of our beloved teaches also graced the occasion. A holy mass was celebrated by late Rev. Fr. Christi Abeyratne.

There onwards Group marched forward interacting well with its members/OBU/College and participate in Batch group/OBU/School activities to serve its Alma mater.

A noteworthy contribution made was the Sponsoring of a much needed Medical Centre for the college. This project was initiated by Rear Admiral Nicholas Jayasekera (retired) ,our batch mate who was the President of the OBU at the time of the project.

We conclude by saying that we are happy with our journey & cherish our achievements.

We thank God and salute our Alma Mater, & remember with gratitude our belowed Priests and Teachers along with the other staff of St Peter’s for nurturing us to be what we are today. Several of our batch mates have achieved milestones in their careers in Sri Lanka & overseas. We are proud of them.

We also remember our dear departed batch mates who have left us to be with God.

The batch groups vison is to help College in every possible way whilst keeping all batch mates closely knitted as one Peterite family.

Created in 1999 & popularly known as LEGENDS. Was created an a means of keeping in touch with the batch. And working with the our alma matter to identify any needs that may arise in college & see how as a batch we can help. Our projects in the past have included in setting up the Technical Education Unit, Erected & maintain the War Memorial. Making cash donation to setup the Pavilion, Medical Unit & the OBU Lounge. We have also taken other projects to help Tutorial staff & batch mates who needed help. At the onset of the Pandemic the batch donated PPE equipment’s to the Kalubowila Teaching Hospital. We are striving to get all of our batch mates to this group to create a vibrant group to keep up with the LEGENDS name.

The batch group of 93/94 was inaugurated in the year 2000 and have been one of the most active batches in OBU. In 2002, the batch inaugurated the Student Scholarship Scheme to provide deserving students with financial difficulties to continue with their education by sponsoring their academic fees. In the last 19 years and the batch have successfully sponsored over 50 students.

In order to raise the funds for the Scholarship Project, the batch have organized many fundraising activities across the years of which some of the Notable events were, Caribbean Night @Taj Samudra, Back to School, Fiesta Mexicana 2014, Golden 40’s@Jaic Hilton – Dance 2015, 25th Anniversary Dinner Dance @ Kingsbury – 2018 and Batch Sing Along- 2019. These activities have helped us to donate Rs. 2,000,000 to the lab renovation project in 2017 and Rs.1,000,000 to the newly established technological studies stream in 2018. The batch also contributed Rs. 250,000 to the College Community Center activities managed by the Old Boys Union in 2019.

The 93/94 batch have also created a unique event, where we along with our peer batch at St.Joseph’s jointly organize the “Crusaders” tent at the annual limited over Joe- Pete Cricket encounter.

Informally formed in 2002, the batch group of 1995 to 2000, remains one of the most active batch groups in the Old Boy’s Union of St Peters College Colombo 4. The home for the Pearly Gates the ever famous tent in the Battle of the saints. Some of the key projects delivered by the group are the Physical Fitness Play Arena in the Primary school and also supported college in the upgrading of the wash room project. Supporting college and encourage the true sprit of St Peters amongst it’s members is ethos we believe in.

The Batch Group is made of 2001, 2002 and 2003 Classes. The Batch group is one most active Batch Groups in the OBU, and has conducted many projects inline with supporting students/college and being a main contributor to OBU activities. Few of the main projects conducted by the Batch Group are shared below.

• Donation of equipments to College to be comply with health standards during the Pandemic

The 2004 batch group is the official association of the 2004 graduating class of St. Peters College, Colombo. The 2004 batch group was formally established in 2014, and its inaugural annual general meeting was held on 21st June 2015.

After spending a great deal of their youth in the classrooms of this illustrious educational institution, the 2004 batch group of St. Peters College considers it their obligation and duty to give back to the institution that has nourished their lives with knowledge and virtue.

The cornerstone for the formation of the batch group was to create engagement and contribution of the graduating class of 2004 towards their Alma Mater which is why through various initiatives, organized independently and in partnership with the St. Peters College Old Boys Union, the 2004 batch group has and continues to contribute towards the College with financial, logistical, and technical assistance which promotes the advancement, progress, and welfare of St. Peter’s College to its Old boys Union and current and future students.

Finally, the 2004 batch group is also focused on organizing fellowship events with the objective of creating and furthering professional networks of its members, provide support and co-operation to batch members in all matters affecting St. Peter’s College while simultaneously creating a brotherhood within the batch group that will last for many generations to come.

The OBU Batch of 2005 was formed in 2013. Primarily led by Dilanka Peries, who is now a VP in the main OBU of College. Over the years the batch group had helped the College, OBU and other institutions (charity) through various projects. Each year we have organized a tent for the limited-overs cricket encounter between St. Peter’s and St. Joseph’s. The tent has attracted about 250 to 300 people over the years. The batch committee is formed every year during the Annual General Meeting. The committee usually consists of 10 to 15 members with 6 office bearers (including deputies) who actively participate and engage in various activities organized by the OBU and College. The batch groups remain committed to serving College, its extended family and the main OBU to its fullest capacity.

The St. Peters College old boys batch group of 2006 is popular amongst the OBU as the “SIXERS” which bears the brand name of our limited-over stand. Throughout 15 years after leaving school, we have supported college and the OBU in many ways such as donations, scholarships and project funding to keep the blue, white and gold flying high.

2007 batch has been a prominent batch group by hosting large scale events and fundraisers which have contributed to school and the OBU in many ways!

The Peterite OBU Batch of 2009, inaugurated in 2011 has been a strength to the batchmates of 2009 and the Main OBU. Our Batch Group has always answered the Main OBU’s call and commit themselves in various activities for the betterment of OBU and College. The Batch Committee constantly drives its membership to assist the main OBU, organise Charity Services (Annual Book Donation Program) and Organise Fellowships to cherish the merry times for the batchmates during their tenure at College, the highlite being the 10th Year Anniversary Dance held in 2019 at Mount Lavinia Hotel. Our batch boasts the representation of 2 already ordained priests Rev.Frs. Samesh Anthony & Jude Ousman (and a few more in the seminary), a National Cricketer (Angelo Perera) and many more entrepreneurs and professionals excelling and bringing glory to St. Peter’s College.

The Old Peterites Batch of 2010 officially came under the wing of the Old Boys Union of St. Peter’s College, Colombo 04, after its Inaugural General Meeting in February 2013. After a lapse of five years, a new committee was elected in 2018. Over the years, the batch committee has supported many OBU events.

The Batch of 2010 is a very special batch boasting of a number of achievements. In sports, in the year 2010, St. Peter’s College won the Joe-Pete cricket big match after a lapse of 32 years. The rugby team was crowned as the triple champs for the first time in college history. Players from the said rugby team went on to represent the Sri Lankan national team. The basketball and tennis teams won the all-Island inter school championships.

The year 2010 also witnessed the first college produced, musical theatre production after a lapse of almost 3 decades to much acclaim. College functions, club and society days and cultural days were opportunities to showcase the immense artistic and musical talents of the batch mates of 2010.

The Old Peterites Batch of 2010 is glad and honoured to bring glory and prestige to its Alma-Mater and pledge to continue to do so.

The batch is grateful to the OBU President and committee for all the support rendered to continue the batch group, and look forward to helping the OBU achieve its goals for the fourth coming year.

We the OBU Batch Group of 2011, was formed in 2011 with several objectives in mind. One was for all batch mates to stay connected with each other, with other batch mates and with overall activities of school. Second was for our batch group to actively support the main OBU and the College.

We welcome all batch mates to get in touch with a member of the batch group committee or a close friend and join the batch group.

OBU Batch group of 2012 was officially formed in August 2012 with the presence of Rev. Fr. Rector and the OBU president. The fellow Peterites of the Batch group elected Thanusha Jayawardena as the inaugural President through unanimous voting to lead the group from the front.

The batch of 2012 is being actively participating in events hosted by OBU whilst we humbly take the pride of being the titleholder for the “Victory Outfit” which is an annual big match outfit and “The Dugout” the Limited overs cricket encounter tent.

The Old Boys Union Batch group of 2013-17 was inaugurated on the 23rd of June 2018. It comprises of all 5 batch groups of all the Peterites who were in College during that period. We hope to grow in the OBU and support our Alma Mater is anyway possible. On the other side, social media groups were created on WhatsApp, Facebook and Instagram to provide instant updates to all batch mates.

We are the Centenary Batch Group and we are the newest batch group of the OBU as we held our 2nd AGM in June 2022. Our Batch Group was formed in 2020 with the batches 2018 and 2019 initially. Later we introduced the 2020 and 2021 batches as well to our batch group, with the 2022 batch yet to join once they leave school.
